Doctor Horrible 2 will still Happen

If there is one constant coming from the camp of the Doctor Horrible cast, is that a sequel is inevitable. For those not privy to this aforementioned camp, Doctor Horrible’s Sing-a-long Blog was a pet project of the Brothers Whedon during the Writer’s Strike. The webfilm was released in three installments featuring Neil Patrick Harris as an aspiring super villain attempting to secure a spot in the Evil League of Evil, but is distracted when his crush (Felcia Day) starts dating his nemesis Captain Hammer (Nathan Fillion).

Jed Whedon was caught chatting about it during an interview for Agents of Shield,

“We know we have spoken publicly about a sequel in the near distance and our passion to create it, and I promise we have not been insincere. Horrible is still one of our favorite creations by humans who were also us. We have many songs written and the plot outlined, but needless to say, we’ve been busy. Joss has had a hectic couple of years and is in the middle of the busiest year of his life, as is Zack and as are we. Also the actors have other things they’re acting in, I think. So the future is uncertain, our passion remains. DH2 will exist, in some format or another, at some point in the future. Unfortunately, the when is still unclear.”

Neil Patrick Harris is awfully busy with How I Met Your Mother, Nathan Fillion is pretty preoccupied with Castle, and not to paint any spoilers but Felicia Day just may not be required for a sequel.

It’s not a massive undertaking and I am sure they could find the time. They just need to find the time together.
