The new Netflix produced series based on a Marvel Superhero property will be Jessica Jones – which is about a retired superhero who becomes a private investigator of sorts. Jones will be played by Kristen Ritter (who I just love) and now the first villain of the series has been announced and will be played by David Tennant.
InsideTV reveals:
The studio has cast David Tennant as the major villain in its upcoming Netflix series A.K.A. Jessica Jones. The Doctor Who and Gracepoint star will play Zebediah Killgrave (also known as The Purple Man).
There is no word on whether or not Tennant will actually be Purple as the villain was traditionally illustrated, but he is a very interesting choice as an antagonist for the series. Mostly because Netflix also has a Daredevil show in development and The Purple Man is traditionally a villain in his line of work. This of course means there is potential for a crossover with the character.
Perhaps Jessica Jones will be a starting point for the character as they eventually launch Daredevil?
